INDIAN SUMMER / FALL

THE ENERGETIC PHASE OF EARTH

INDIAN SUMMER / FALL
HARVESTING
REFLECTION
STORING
FULFILLMENT
With the shortening days the white dew will soon be covering the grass. The cicadas are gone and the songbirds are getting ready to seek out the warmth of the South.
Rain will be cooler and the Damp will begin to predominate in the Earth instead of hanging in the air.
Of course there will be the last surge of Heat sometime in September but the diminishing light will already have signaled the change that actually began at the beginning of August.
Some of us begin to mourn the passing of the sunlight with a mood shift that can last months. Fortunately there is another source of light: meditation can call forth the inner light of mind and Heart to meet the loss of the outer light. There are exercises we can use to brighten up our days and prepare for the storing of energy in the ground as Autumn approaches.
It’s a good time to reflect and to start on a new intellectual endeavor. Learn how the Seasons order the rhythm of life around the cycle of changes in weather and light.
For generations people have learned to adapt to the climate they inhabit. Your body feels the change of Season and starts to adapt as soon as it encounters that shift. Sometimes the shift is stimulating, you want to go for a walk be outside, watch the clouds and sky patterns. Sometimes the shift is more fretful, stiff joints, headache, sinus congestion, susceptibility to viruses, insomnia.

All life is governed by the flow of Qi. This is the manifestation of life force that creates polarity and movement of currents in the cells and in the body as a whole. We change the flow pattern every day when we go to sleep (or don’t go to sleep) and wake.
Becoming aware as to how these flows interact and integrate in your life as internal and external responses to life is essential to being happier and more comfortable in the body.
Learn the basics of the Fire phase of the Five Phases theory and how to put into practice movements and meditations that will ease your path in life.
